Anna is a physiotherapist who initially specialised in paediatrics and neonates and gained a PhD in predicting outcome in preterm infants at Sheffield University in 2004. Since 2009 she has worked for the John Walton Muscular Dystrophy Research Centre in Newcastle where she is a Consultant Research physiotherapist involved in clinical and research activity for children and adults. Anna has published on the development of outcome measures for use in various neuromuscular disorders (NMD’s) including duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) and dysferlinopathy, a type of Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophy. These have incorporated the use of modern psychometrics, specifically Rasch analysis.
